As it has been happening for some years, four years precisely, last Sunday the London Tweed Run 2012 took place. A bicycle run where elegance, and not speed, wins. And I’m not talkig about an ordinary elegance, don’t get me wrong! But the one accordingly the thirties and fourties English style. A funny event for rediscovering the pleasant of bicycle runs, made only to enjoy style and relax. As once happened, at Sundays. And so, along the city avenues, in the old streets of the noble English tailoring tradition as Savile Row, a long parade of women and gentlemen wearing tweed pants, waistcoats, jackets and hats goes forward, on two wheels, through viewers’ smirks. Eyes get lost in the wonder of the details: leather buttons of the jackets, flowery neckerchief of the women, the perfect swallotailed tip of the classic English shoes. We have to admit, at the London Tweed Run style walks on the catwalk. In the saddle of a bicycle.
